3's/4's Morning Program

Pre-K 3’s and 4’s Kindergarten Readiness

Morning Program (8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

Classrooms (3's room and 4's room)

The 3's program is in our newest classroom with spacious learning centers and areas for individual instruction.

The 4's have a dedicated classroom that meets the needs of a kindergarten readiness room that allows for more teacher-guided lessons.

The Pre-K 3’s/4’s Program is designed to lay the foundation for the early stages of learning and to prepare the students for their future school grades. Our preschool program and curriculum is a play-centered Christian curriculum that focuses on the “whole-child” and covers all learning domains: language/literacy, math, science, social/emotional, spiritual, social studies, creative arts and physical development. Each day the teachers stress learning, living and loving as God’s children.

We use the philosophy that:

+ Learning for young children is the result of interaction between a child's thoughts and experiences with materials, ideas and people.

+ The role of play is an essential ingredient in developing creative and problem-solving skills. The teachers support and guide the child's self-initiated play and introduce purposeful instructional activities that engage the students in the learning process.

The curriculum for the Pre-K Program uses themed units to engage the children in learning concepts and skills needed to be successful in Kindergarten.

We offer centers that provide play-centered teacher-guided learning to give the children opportunities to grow socially, while engaging with other students and the teachers while they explore and learn through the 8 learning domains of: religion, language arts, math, science, social studies, creative arts, physical health, and social/emotional development.

The LSL follows and incorporates the KY and IN standards, learning domains and benchmarks outlined for early childhood to ensure we are providing a quality learning environment. We provide small and large group work. Each daily lesson plan includes Bible Story Time (exploring God’s Word) as well as activities in the Time with Jesus Center. Daily prayers are said before snack and weekly chapel is on Fridays with the church pastor. We have obtained accreditation through the National Lutheran School Accreditation program (NLSA). https://www.lcms.org/schools
